Four die in horror car crash fire
FOUR young men died when their car crashed into a house and became a fireball.
Three members of the public frantically tried to free the casualties from the wreckage.
The uninjured occupants of the house on the A4 at Derry Hill, Wilts, were evacuated while the fire service extinguished the blaze.
The four, all local men, died at the scene.
Supt Steve Cox, of Wiltshire Police, said: “This was an absolutely horrific collision in the early hours.
“Blue light services were met with devastating scenes. My thoughts are with the families of the dead.”
Jim Cook, from the parish council, said road safety has been a big issue in the area for many years.
He revealed: “We have seen accidents along the A4 related to speed.
“A fresh look at the speed limits of this area in particular would make a lot of sense.”
