More help for self-employed

-

THE SELF-employed can apply for a second emergency coronavirus grant worth up to £6,570 from today.

The cash will help those who work for themselves if their income has been negatively impacted by the effect of the pandemic.

The Government will cover up to 70 per cent of their trading profits over three months.

This is down from the 80 per cent offered under the first selfemployed income support scheme. It is capped at £2,190 a month, so the maximum able to be claimed is £6,570.

Anyone can be eligible for the second grant regardless of whether or not they claimed the first payment. You have until October 19 to apply for it.

Applications for the payout can be made at the official Government Gateway claims portal on the website gov.uk
