Holland first as Surrey struggle
IAN HOLLAND secured his maiden first-class five-for but Hampshire were held up by rain in the Bob Willis Trophy at Arundel.
The scalps of Surrey’s Laurie Evans and Gus Atkinson took Holland’s figures to 6-39.
Evans, on loan from Sussex, scored his first 50 for Surrey since 2010 but his side remain in trouble on 130-8.
Somerset are on course for a third win in a row in the competition despite rain also holding them up at Edgbaston.
They dodged showers to take their first innings to 214-6 – a lead of 93.
Riki Wessels helped give Worcestershire the upper hand against his former county Northamptonshire at Wantage Road.
His 88 hauled his side to 219 before Northants closed on 90-4.
Off-spinner Simon Harmer picked up two wickets to add to the 20 he has already taken for champions Essex this season to reduce Sussex to 155-6 at Hove.
