Angry neighbour ‘returns’ dumped rubbish over wall

- By David Pilditch

A LANDOWNER who claims a neighbour threw tons of rubbish on to his property was filmed “hurling it back” over their garden wall.

Cliff Hamilton said he took the direct action after his pleas to the alleged fly-tippers to clear up “six skip loads” of debris were ignored.

However, the neighbour Gurvinder Singh Luthra says he is innocent and is threatening to take legal action against Mr Hamilton.

The 68-year-old said: “I don’t know where the rubbish came from. It doesn’t belong to us, I know that.”

He added that the empty plot is “a known spot for fly tipping”.

A video posted online shows Mr Hamilton and a group of builder friends throwing items – including televisions, doors, tyres and furniture – over the wall.

It led to an angry confrontation and neighbours called police.

Mr Hamilton bought the empty plot in Hounslow, west London, nine months ago. He said: “I was made aware by an anonymous person that large volumes of rubbish were being dumped in the site, which is fenced on all sides.” He claimed: “I was sent photos of the neighbours in my garden treading down the rubbish.”

The video showed an angry woman at the property neighbouring Mr Hamilton’s challenging him and his friends: “What are you doing?”

Mr Hamilton replies: “We’re giving you back everything that you put over our wall.”

He said afterwards: “I am reaching the end of my tether with people dumping rubbish because they are either too lazy or wish to save money.

“I intend to speak to my neighbour via my lawyers and offer him the opportunity to pay for the clearance of the rubbish prior to taking any legal action.”
