Passenger taken off jet after getting text saying: YOU’VE GOT THE VIRUS!
HAZMAT-wearing officials disinfect a plane at Stansted Airport after removing a man who tested positive for coronavirus.
His companion was also taken off the Ryanair flight to Pisa, Italy.
The airline said the man had received a text message telling him he had the virus and must isolate for 10 days, but he still boarded. Staff disinfected the pair’s seats, where they had been “for less than 10 minutes”, as well as the overhead luggage bins. The flight, on Wednesday, was delayed by 80 minutes.
Ryanair said: “The passenger and his companion were taken to an isolation area where they were assisted by health authorities.
“There was little if any risk to other passengers or crew members as all were wearing face masks at all times.”
