WITH outspoken actor Laurence Fox, pictured, having successfully championed a campaign to see DameVera Lynn’s Land Of HopeAnd Glory top the charts,Tory MP Andrea Jenkyns demands:

“A knighthood for

Laurence Fox! The King of anti-establishment and anti-wokeness.”

Fox, 42, who made headlines during the BBC’s Last Night of the Proms fiasco, jokily responds: “Arise, Sir Laurence!”

NOTING the Prime Minister’s new fitness regime, colourful star and former Tory MP Gyles Brandreth, 72, proudly tells ITV’s This Morning: “I’ve got two personal trainers: an outdoor personal trainer called Fiona, who takes me out on my tricycle for nice rides, and an indoor personal trainer called Tamsin, who makes me do the press-ups.”

Married to wife Michèle for 47 years, Brandreth intriguingly adds: “The last personal trainer sadly went by the board when she invited me to be her birthing partner. My wife thought, ‘Enough is enough.’”

HIGHLIGHTING the challenges of sending up one well-known figure during his long-running series TV Burp, comedy entertainer Harry Hill claims: “With Alan Sugar – who isn’t known for his sense of humour – we’d always have to run the clips by him for some reason, and most of the time he said no.”

Cuddly, fun-loving Lord Sugar? Surely some mistake?

BESTSELLING author Jane Fallon, 59, reflects on her lockdown life with longtime partner Ricky Gervais. “I’m the quiet one and like absolute silence,” she explains. “He’s like a Fisher-Price toy, making random noises all over the place.”

THERE’S no sign of keeper Mick Tiley getting the hump as he measures Noemie at ZSL London Zoo’s annual weigh-in yesterday.

The Bactrian camel was among 19,000 creatures to be put on the scales yesterday. Some, including the squirrel monkeys, leapt on, while others, such as Polly the Galapagos giant tortoise, needed a bit of gentle coaxing.

Bosses hope the event will help promote the venue, which had to shut for three months due to the pandemic. Visitor numbers are now limited but the zoo needs £1million a month for costs.

Director-general Dominic Jermey admitted: “This year has been catastrophic for us.

“We are seeking funding from a range of places.”
