We’re so vain! How Anthea Turner, 60, keeps age at bay

- By Mark Reynolds

TV presenter Anthea Turner has said women are “vain” and must fork out on regular beauty treatments if they want to stay looking young.

The 60 year old has declared women must get their teeth done and find a good hairdresser just to keep their youthful looks.

Looks do, in fact matter, as the “outside shell deteriorates” for women once they turn 60, she said.

The former Blue Peter presenter confessed she dabbles in regular cosmetic treatments including Botox and collagen threads to keep the wrinkles at bay.

She also is no stranger to a non-surgical skin treatment called Profilo, which sees anti-ageing injections of hyaluronic acid pumped into the skin.

Speaking to Platinum magazine, Anthea said women should be willing to do a little “tidying up as you go along” when it comes to fighting the signs of ageing.

She added: “You have to help yourself.

“At 60, the outside shell is deteriorating and we’re women, we’re vain and want to look after ourselves. How we look contributes to confidence and nobody wants to look old.

“So as we get older and lose our youthful bloom, some good little procedures can bring a little of that bloom back.”
