Wing- walker John on a flight of fancy at 89

A FORMER paratrooper takes to the skies for a wing walk to celebrate his 89th birthday.

John Wilkins added to his feat of raising £ 350,000 over 20 years for The Grand Appeal at Bristol Children’s Hospital, having also completed a parachute jump.

He is no stranger to abseiling and zip wires, but the latest daredevil task was delayed due to the lockdown – and John was raring to jump to it from an airfield in Honiton, Devon.

John said: “It has been great to be able to take to the skies and start fundraising for this amazing charity again.”
