ALAN’S TIP OF THE DAY:

Pick any remaining outdoor tomatoes and bring green ones inside. Don’t put them on a sunny windowsill, place them in a box with a ripe banana – the ethylene gas hastens tomatoes ripening. Leave greenhouse tomatoes for another three weeks.
