LADIES, STOP MOANING... WE WANTED EQUALITY AND NOW WE’VE GOT IT

THREE cheers for the Appeal Court which unanimously upheld the decision of the High Court to throw out the case of the Waspi women.

The contention that women’s retirement age should be returned to 60 is farcical. We wanted equality, sisters, and now we have it.

Predictably complainants say they will take their case to the Supreme Court. In an article written in this paper by a representative of the Back To 60 group, she claims the judgment was based on misogyny and that the “Department for Work and Pensions has spent millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money taking these women to court”. Eh? I thought it was you who took the government to court, dear. I’m sorry for the handful of women who somehow really did manage not to know the change was coming but for the fools who want to keep an unequal pension age between the sexes, I have no time at all.
