Zoe says thanks a million
I KNOW the BBC is desperately seeking to introduce some sort of long overdue parity to their pay scales for women doing exactly the same work as their previously much better rewarded male counterparts.
But a million pound pay rise for losing a million listeners, as in Zoe Ball’s case, might be taking that aim a bit far. I do not doubt that she is personally hugely likeable, but the statistics suggest I’m scarcely alone in finding that her breathless gush and Radio 2’ s breakfast show are not a happy match.
She makes Gary Davies sound as subversive as Terry Wogan.
