Changing nappy makes dad happy
HANDS- ON dads are less likely to suffer baby blues, a study claims.
Researchers found that more participation by new fathers in parenting – such as helping with nappy changes – is good for their mental health and can benefit the whole family’s wellbeing. Dr Olajide Bamishigbin, author of the US study, said: “Fathers who are more involved may feel more competent and satisfied in their role.”
The findings are in Frontiers in Psychiatry.
