I think I’ve flooded my engine...
THESE sailboats are greeted with one of the most bizarre sights ever seen in the water – an almost submerged car.
An unsuspecting driver had parked the vehicle on a quayside road, unaware that a rising water in tidal creeks would make the area more suitable for boats.
Bemused sailors cruised past the near- drowned silver car, which appears to have its front driver- side window left open.
One photo even shows a man in a speedboat approaching the car, seemingly trying to work out a way to rescue it.
The vehicle was caught in the high tide at Burnham Overy Staithe, Norfolk.
Tim Gatti, who manages a local boathouse, said:
“There are signs in place telling drivers that it is not a formal car park, and should not be treated as one.
“Some people do not know about the tides, and they turn up and think they’re parking next to a little river – then later, are very surprised.
“This particular car was completely flooded. It took a day to get a recovery vehicle down to rescue it.”
