Farewell to ‘ rock star’ of justice
THE coffin of US Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg arrived at the Supreme Court yesterday draped in her nation’s flag.
President Donald Trump is expected to pay his respects today with thousands of mourners.
The coffin will lie in repose for two days at the court the judge served for 27 years.
Chief Justice John Roberts described her a “rock star” as he recounted her affect on American law, fight for equality and inspiration to women. He said: “She will live on in what she did to improve the law.”
President Trump is set to nominate a successor this weekend. He wants his choice appointed before the presidential election in November.
