Blatant lack of concern for others
ATTITUDES to Covid span the entire spectrum from timid to temerarious, from slavishness to the rules to blithe disregard for them, from trust in the Government to snorting disbelief.
Until last week, however, I had assumed that wherever you stood on that scale there was one rule which we all accepted just because it made obvious sense: if you know you have Covid, self- isolate until you have it no longer. That is surely not rocket science. Yet we had the unbelievable case of an MP, Margaret Ferrier, above, of the SNP, spending five hours on a train to Scotland knowing she had tested positive for Covid. Knowing, not just suspecting or fearing but knowing. Reckless does not even begin to describe it.
Dash it, she even travelled to Westminster with symptoms while waiting for the test results instead of making her contribution to the parliamentary debate remotely.
Words fail me. Completely.
