Jihadist Beatles to be flown to the US

- By Christopher Bucktin US Editor

TWO of the British IS terrorists dubbed “the Beatles” are being transferred to the US, say American officials.

El Shafee Elsheikh and Alexanda Kotey are to go from the Al Asad airbase in Iraq to a federal jail ahead of their trial.

Their extradition was cleared after US authorities assured the UK the death penalty would not be sought if they are found guilty.

Elsheikh, 32, and Kotey, 36, were moved to Al Asad last year from Syria.

They are accused of the kidnappings and deaths of 27 hostages, including British aid workers David Haines and Alan Henning.

Hostages had dubbed the pair, along with Mohammed Emwazi and Aine Lesley Davis, the Beatles because of their British accents.

Emwazi was killed in 2015, Davis was jailed in Turkey in 2017.
