HIGH street giants will stop selling alpaca fur clothes after gruesome videos showed animals being roughly shorn.

Next, New Look, Ted Baker and Matalan are among retailers who have banned alpaca.

It follows an undercover probe by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals ( PETA) at alpaca farm Mallkini in Peru.

Mallkini’s parent company, the Michell Group, blamed “negligent” shearers and said: “The shocking images undoubtedly show excesses that we deeply deplore and affect us profoundly.”
