Alfred Hitchcock’s groundbreaking low- budget shocker is now 60 years old, but it still packs a punch.

Psycho is an adaptation of Robert Bloch’s novel of the same name, but rather than depicting Norman Bates as a middle- aged bachelor, as Bloch did, Hitch cast young and handsome Anthony Perkins in the role, which makes the film’s events even more shocking.

Janet Leigh also stars as a thief who makes the mistake of checking into the Bates Motel, leading to one of the most famous murder scenes of all time.
