President has shown real backbone and dedication

ROBERT Readman’s letter (“Trump’s silly stunt has put lives at risk”, October 6), condemned President Trump for his drive- past.

What is so galling is that had this been Barack Obama, or even Bill Clinton, no doubt praise would be heaped on his head for being a president of the people.

But because it is Trump he is called reckless. President Trump has shown backbone and dedication to his people and country.

To do what he did while no doubt still feeling weak was a magnificent bright spot in an increasingly grey and miserable world.

Well done, Donald. And thank you for the gesture.
