It’s a wonder that anyone wants to join the police

HOW right Peter Hyde is in his assessment of what has happened to police officers in this country (“Soft justice and cuts leave officers as sitting targets”, Letters, October 6).

It is a wonder anyone wants to join what is known to every police officer as “the job”.
