THE BIG PICTURE
DARTS became the latest sport to be plunged into Covid- 19 chaos when Adrian Lewis and Stephen Bunting were forced out of the BoyleSports World Grand Prix.
Two- time PDC world champion Lewis and Bunting, who won the Lakeside version of the crown six years ago, tested positive ahead of the opening round in Coventry last night.
A PDC spokesman confirmed: “Lewis and Bunting will now return home to isolate in line with the Government guidelines.
“By following the relevant protocols neither came into contact with other people during their time at the Ricoh Arena.”
Simon Whitlock and Jeffrey de Zwaan, the highest- ranked players on the PDC order of merit who did not qualify for the event, have been called up as replacements.
