Children turn to takeaways
ONE in three children orders takeaway food every week, figures revealed.
Researchers claim the impact of lockdown has led to a surge in youngsters ordering meals from delivery services.
Nearly one in five children say they order takeaways once a week, while one in 20 buys them up to three times a week and four per cent even up to five times a week.
On average, parents order 53 takeaways a year, one every 6.8 days, while their children order 42 per year, one every nine days.
Chloe Couper, business manager at Direct Line Life Insurance which conducted the research, said: “Fast food outlets are now accessible from anywhere. All you need is a delivery app.”
