Funding licence costs less than the sad alternative

THE cost of continuing to fund the TV licence would be far more beneficial to the taxpayer than the cost of loneliness and ill health that would result if a significant number of our over- 75s have to make the financial choice between paying for their licence and meeting essential living costs (“Don’t pay TV licence, OAPs told”, October 15).

I will struggle to pay and I know I speak for many others.
