It might be their wage but I don’t think they earn it
IT is reported that Naga Munchetty, who earned in excess of £ 195,000 as a BBC Breakfast presenter last year, is to have her own show on Radio 5, boosting her salary to more than £ 250,000 per annum (“Munchetty to present radio show”, October 15).
I do wish the media would refrain from using the word earned when referring to the salaries of ‘ celebrities’.
They may well be paid the obscene sums quoted, but earn it? Certainly not in my book. Robert Readman,
