Bringing back Theo ‘ makes us better’

- By Mike Walters

RALPH Hasenhuttl says Theo Walcott’s return to Southampton will improve the team.

Former England striker Walcott begins his second coming with Saints by going straight in at the deep end at Chelsea tomorrow.

And manager Hasenhuttl has seen enough in training to believe his loan signing from Everton, below, will be a valuable addition.

More than 14 years after his last appearance for Saints as a 16- year- old, Walcott’s return has a romantic element. However, Hasenhuttl said: “The most important thing is to find a player who makes us better. I am convinced he will definitely help us.” Hasenhuttl admitted that signing players over 30 does not necessarily fit in with his grand design. But he could not resist the chance to bring home Walcott, 31, saying: “We were looking for an experienced one who showed he has the quality to compete in the Premier League.

“He has a big history with this club and he wanted to come to us. “This guy wants to show what he has learned.”
