‘ Significant force’ used to kill nurse
A NURSE was left with unsurvivable brain damage after her police officer lover strangled her with “significant force” and fractured her neck, a court heard.
An expert told jurors Claire Parry went into cardiac arrest and suffered a devastating brain injury.
The court has heard her lover PC Timothy Brehmer, 41, strangled Mrs Parry, 41, in his car after she threatened to reveal their 10- year affair to his wife.
Pathologist Dr Amanda Jeffery yesterday told jurors at Salisbury Crown Court, Wilts, the mother of two may have been strangled for 10 to 30 seconds.
The court heard Mrs Parry was throttled in a pub car park in West Parley, Dorset, on May 9 and died from deprivation of blood to the brain.
Dr Jeffery said: “The findings were indicative of significant force to the neck.”
Brehmer admits manslaughter, but denies murder.
The trial continues.
