Be­fore Ru­pert can re­ply Algy turns his head sharply. “Did you hear any­thing?” he mut­ters. “I thought I heard some­body speak­ing.” Ru­pert lis­tens. “Yes, you’re right,” he says. “I can hear the lady’s voice, but I can’t tell who she’s talk­ing to.” “Oh dear, I don’t want to face any more peo­ple,” says Algy. “Shall we run away? I can run now.” “No,” de­cides Ru­pert. “We don’t know the way from here. The lady be­came quite kind when I asked about the crys­tal ball. Let’s go back to her.”

“Let’s run,” says Algy, “I’m not keen On stay­ing here and be­ing seen!”
