Burnham’s not the official spokesman for the North

WHAT gives Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham the right to speak for everyone in the North of England (“North is told to end lockdown rebellion”, October 16)?

It is obvious there are far more multi- generational families in the North and they are a greater threat to the spread of the virus.

This is why we need tighter restrictions, not because of a bias against the North over the South.

It is about time Burnham stopped trying to score political points and did as he is told.
