Otaegui stuns Wallace
ADRIAN OTAEGUI roared back from four strokes adrift to deny England’s Matt Wallace victory in the Scottish Championship.
The world No248 from Spain hit a blistering final- round 63 to win by four from Wallace ( 71) at Fairmont St Andrews, and by six from third- placed Aaron Rai ( 66).
The win is the 27- yearold Otaegui’s third on the
GOLF
European Tour but his first in a strokeplay event, having won the Paul Lawrie Match Play in 2017 and the Belgian Knockout in a medal match- play format the following season.
“To be able to win in Scotland, especially here in St Andrews, the home of golf, it means a lot to me,” he said.
