It’s happy days for Lambert

IPSWICH manager Paul Lambert believes his table- toppers are showing the stomach for a promotion fight.
Gwion Edwards took his goal tally to five for the season in the 2- 0 victory over Accrington,
with Freddie Sears adding the second.
The Tractor Boys are unbeaten with five wins from six and Lambert said: “I’m really happy, it’s been a brilliant start. The performances have been really high.”
Hull are second after a 3- 0 victory at Rochdale,
with Mallik Wilks grabbing a brace.
Tigers boss Grant McCann felt the win, rounded off by Josh Magennis, was the perfect reply after the 4- 1 defeat at Fleetwood last time out. “We wanted to respond in the right
way and we’ve done that,” he said.
Peterborough beat
Oxford 2- 0 to move into fourth but boss Darren Ferguson wants more.
“We’re not anywhere near the level we can reach,” he claimed.
It was a fourth defeat in five league games for Oxford and manager Karl Robinson said: “The players know the results aren’t good enough.”
Sunderland are a point behind Peterborough in fifth after a 2- 0 win at
Swindon left boss Phil Parkinson beaming. He said: “That was what we want from the lads.”
Shrewsbury picked up their first victory with an injury- time header from Leon Clarke downing
AFC Wimbledon 1- 0.
Blackpool drew 1- 1 at Crewe while Doncaster won 1- 0 at Portsmouth.
