WHY IS MY SECTION 75 CLAIM REJECTED?

I have a dispute with a retailer about a faulty DVD player I purchased online. I made a Section 75 claim, but this has been rejected as I paid via PayPal? Can they do this as

I still used my credit card?

Section 75 can only be used when you pay the trader “direct”. When you use PayPal you lose this chain, as you pay PayPal with your credit card and PayPal pays the trader. You should therefore claim through PayPal instead.

I got an iPhone 12 as part of a new mobile phone package I took out. The phone does not work. Do I complain to Apple or the mobile network?

You always complain to the person/ entity you purchased the goods from. In your case this is the mobile network provider.
