Under- fire PFA boss Taylor will

GORDON TAYLOR has finally announced a date to leave the highest- paid union job in the country.

Last year, the 75- yearold announced he would step down as Profession­al Footballer­s’ Associatio­n chief executive after the completion of an independen­t review of the organisati­on – but no time limit was set.

In a letter to members, he has agreed to quit at the end of the season as the organisati­on continues to come under fire for its failure to take a lead in the coronaviru­s situation and also for their lack of action on the game’s dementia issue despite compelling evidence released a year ago.

Taylor wrote: “Now that the independen­t review process has completed, I too will step down, by the end of the current season. A new chief executive will
