Bielsa in mix to be FIFA coach of 2020
MARCELO BIELSA is a shock inclusion on the five- man shortlist for FIFA men’s coach of the year.
Although Bielsa ended Leeds’ 16- year exile from the Premier League, few expected him to be in the running.
Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick and Sevilla’s Julen Lopetegui, who won the Champions League and Europa League respectively, are on the list, along with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane after their domestic title triumphs.
Four of Klopp’s squad are in the mix for the men’s player accolade, with Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk joined by summer signing Thiago Alcantara.
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is also nominated as are Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Sergio Ramos.
The winners will be announced on December 17.
