Who will have their chips and be unmasked first?

- By Mark Jefferies

SAUSAGE aims to make every song a banger when it locks horns and vocal chords with the likes of Alien, Viking and Badger in this year’s The Masked Singer.

ITV has revealed its wild and whacky line- up for the second series with a set of tantalising clues about who’s inside the crazy costumes.

Alien is hoping “to dazzle earthlings with out of this world performances” while Dragon is “a cutie but, when they open their mouth to sing, can they bring the fire?”

All questions will be answered when host Joel Dommett returns for the unique guessing game won first time out by Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud.

Blasting off on Boxing Day, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross are back trying to guess warblers’ identities along with new panellist, comedian Mo Gilligan.

Host Joel already has his favourite: “I love Sausage. The costume is so different. I love

Dressed for success... this year’s contenders

the cartoonish element of it and Robin I really love.

“Part of me really loves the cumbersome costumes like Grandfather Clock because it’s just so ridiculous and slow.

“The costumes couldn’t be more different but you enjoy them all for individual values.”

Giving a bit of insight into the performances to come, Davina said of the weird and wonderful disguises: “I really liked Harlequin, the drama of that. There were some very cute ones. We have Dragon

who was extremely sweet. Kids are going to love that.

“Viking was hilarious, made me laugh so much. It reminded me of Asterix and Obelix and my youth in some way.”

And new judge Mo said:

“You get a few opportunities to be quite close to who is behind the mask and you cannot see inside the costume at all. It’s hard to judge if they’re tall or short. There are some wicked costumes and really funny.”

The Masked Singer returns to ITV on Boxing Day at 7pm.
