‘ Better’ Britain won world race

BRITAIN won the race to get the coronavirus vaccine first because it is a “much better country” than France, Belgium and the US, a Cabinet minister has declared.

Some ministers claim that Brexit speeded up the process but Gavin Williamson, left, said it was down to having superior medical experts.

The Education Secretary heaped praise on the British effort as he welcomed the vaccine’s much- needed arrival to the UK.

He told LBC Radio: “I just reckon we’ve got the very best people in this country and we’ve obviously got the best medical regulator, much better than the French have, much better than the Belgians have, much better than the Americans have.”
