£ 150k for Bond car
JAMES Bond’s muscle car from On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is set to rev up £ 150,000 at auction.
The 1969 XR7 Mercury Cougar convertible played a starring role in the film – with Bond girl Contessa Teresa di Vicenzo, played by the late Diana Rigg, who starred alongside George Lazenby as 007.
The car, to be sold by Bonhams on December 16, was in a shabby state. But after realising its history, the owner spent 30 years restoring it.
