BOXING WORLD OF THE BIG PICTURE
BILLY JOE SAUNDERS aims to retire four- time world title challenger Martin Murray to end his frustrating year on a high.
Saunders, 31, was due to face Saul ‘ Canelo’ Alvarez in May before the coronavirus pandemic caused it to be cancelled. He plans to defend his WBO super- middleweight title tonight at Wembley Arena and face Alvarez in 2021.
He said: “Martin is going to bring a good game and afterwards he can go back to St Helens with his cash, have a good Christmas and retire with his family because that’s what I’m planning on doing to him – retiring him.”
