Beaten Foxes sweating on new injury

CAGLAR SOYUNCU limped off 17 minutes into his comeback and Leicester are praying he will not need surgery on his injured groin.

The Turkey defender had been out for eight weeks and will now be checked by the medical staff on his return to the King Power Stadium, after Leicester were floored by a late goal from Zorya Luhansk substitute Allahyar Sayyadmane­sh in the Ukraine.

Boss Brendan Rodgers said: “It is a recurrence. He overstretc­hed a bit and felt a twinge. It’s very frustratin­g. He’s been training for a long time. It was the right time to bring him back.”

Rodgers left some big stars at home as the Foxes tried to seal top spot in the group to earn a seeding in the knockout stages.

Ricardo Pereira, who had been absent for eight months, played only the first half while fellow returnee Wilfred Ndidi was taken off after 57 minutes.

Both were precaution­ary changes made by Rodgers.
