Man held for hotel killing is sectioned
A MAN held over the killing of a hotel receptionist has been detained under the mental health act, police said yesterday.
The 32- year- old was arrested after the young woman was battered to death while she worked the night shift at a Travelodge in Bournemouth.
The victim, who has yet to be named but was in her 20s, was found dead in the foyer of the hotel at about 7.30am on Wednesday.
Colleagues found her covered in blood and said there was little they could do to save her.
A short time later a man walked into a police station to report the death before being arrested on suspicion of murder.
He was sectioned yesterday and will remain in a mental health unit for an initial 28- day period.
