Sales rocket for real firs

REAL Christmas tree sales have grown by almost a third this year as more people make the most of festivities at home.

The British Christmas Tree Growers Association said members’ sales rose by 31 per cent compared to 2019.

It said record UK receipts were due to people looking for festive cheer, going away less and celebrating in smaller groups than usual.

Grower Vincent Thurkettle said: “People are buying their trees early to cheer themselves up.”
