CATCHING THOSE WHO FALL THROUGH SOCIAL SAFETY NET

-

FOR more than 50 years, St Giles Trust has been helping those who fall through the gaps in society’s safety net, be it from homelessness, domestic abuse, long- term unemployment or exploitation by criminal gangs.

The charity passionately believes everyone is capable of creating a better future for themselves with the right support.

Today, they help more than 20,000 people across the UK and their services are in increasing demand.

Throughout the first lockdown, St Giles delivered 83,000 nourishing meals to 700 people. In order to meet a growing demand, they established a network of “Pantries” in

London, Leeds and Coventry to offer food and other support. The Pantries charge a small weekly fee of £ 3.50 to each person who can then visit and choose their food as they would in any regular weekly shop.

This Christmas the Daily Express is asking readers to dig deep to help St Giles provide 50,000 meals across the UK to people who would otherwise face hunger and desperation.

Just £ 5 will help provide a day’s worth of food to a family in need and £ 25 can help feed a family for a week. The added essential extra in EVERY basket is the care, advice and support from St Giles to help people overcome their obstacles.
