Mister Fisher gives grounds for Henderson to be happy again

- By Chris Goulding

AFTER Nicky Henderson received a mauling over his decision to pull Altior from last Saturday’s Tingle Creek Chase, on account of the testing ground, he was back in everyone’s good books after Mister Fisher ( left) gave him an eighth victory in the Peterborough Chase at Cheltenham yesterday.

After welcoming back his winner, partnered by Nico de Boinville, Henderson said: “The ground went against us on Paddy Power day when he pulled up and it is still not quite with us today.

“But full marks to the BHA for staging the race here after Huntingdon was abandoned.

“This was the right race for him. He’s a young horse on the up. Henderson will now aim him for the Ryanair Chase and he is now 12- 1 from 20s with Paddy Power.

Happygolucky put down his marker for the National Hunt Chase at the Festival after taking the novice chase in the hands of David Bass for trainer Kim Bailey.

And Some Neck arrived late to snatch victory from Defi Des Carres by a short head in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase for trainer John McConnell.
