OWENS CALLS IT A DAY

NIGEL OWENS, the referee with the most international appearances, has brought an end to his Test career.

The 49- year- old Welshman took charge of his 100th and final international last month – France’s Autumn Nations Cup game against Italy.

“Nobody has a divine right to go on forever,” said 2015 World Cup final referee Owens, who plans to continue officiating in the Pro 14 and in local rugby.
