Carlo: Franks, I’m feeling older

- EVERTON CHELSEA DAVID MADDOCK

CARLO ANCELOTTI admits that the prospect of facing his former player Frank Lampard across the Goodison dugout makes him feel old.

Chelsea boss Lampard says he learnt much from Ancelotti, but now they go head to head in a big game for both clubs, and the Italian said: “I have a long list of players that become a manager – starting from Deschamps who was my player for six months.

“I have Pirlo, Gattuso, Shevchenko, all the way through to Frank – it seems I am getting old, but what can I do? If I help them to be a better manager it is good for me.”

Everton need a win tonight, with just one in their last six matches, and Ancelotti added: “When I was at Chelsea, I thought some players had the quality to be a manager in the future – and Frank was one of them because, tactically, he was really, really good and serious and professional.”

Everton will be without James Rodriguez, who the Italian has refused to risk with a calf injury.

Everton have posted record losses of almost £ 140m because of the damaging impact of the coronavirus crisis.
