Documentary: Food Unwrapped’s Festive Feast, Channel 4, 8pm
Jimmy Doherty ( left) hosts a Christmas extravaganza at his farm and the intrepid team get the lowdown on and investigate the secrets behind the food that will be on people’s tables over the festive holiday period. Amanda Byram exposes the surprising truth about the humble turkey crown, while Kate Quilton shares the trick to making the ultimate satisfying Christmas cake. Elsewhere, Briony Williams investigates the classic starter of prawn cocktail, and Matt Tebbutt finds out what every cheese lover wants to know – just how do they get the cranberries into fruity cheese?

A double helping of drama from the Weatherfield cobbles. Faye announces that she’s quit her job working for Ray, while Debbie asks Gary to reconsider his position. Elsewhere, Todd goes snooping around for answers. In the second instalment of the night, Tim ( Joe Duttine, left) intends to make up for lost time with his mum Elaine, while Maria begs Faye to report Ray to the police. Meanwhile, Todd finally manages to win Billy’s trust.
Comedy: Still Open All Hours, BBC1, 7.30pm
Granville tries to put the magic back into the festive season by practising a few conjuring tricks – but things do not go according to plan and people keep disappearing. Eric and Cyril aim to persuade their wives to try some special French custard, while Mrs Rossi invites Mr Newbold round for Christmas lunch. What will the Black Widow have to say when she finds out? Comedy, starring David Jason ( above).
Quiz: Only Connect, BBC2, 7.30pm
Victoria Coren Mitchell ( right) is in the hotseat again as she hosts the opening second- round match of this tricky quiz guaranteed to test your grey matter as two teams compete for a place in the quarter- finals. The contestants must use patience, lateral thinking and sheer inspiration to make connections between four things that may appear at first not to be linked, with one set of clues consisting of horseradish, Grape- nuts, Chinese chequers and guinea pigs.
Film: The Lady In The Van, BBC Four, 9pm
The true story of writer Alan Bennett’s friendship with an eccentric homeless woman whom he befriended in the 1970s before allowing her to park her dilapidated Bedford van outside his Camden home, where she ended up staying for 15 years. Comedy, starring Dame Maggie Smith ( above), and co- starring Alex Jennings, Roger Allam and Jim Broadbent.
