Andrew told to ‘ say sorry’ after Epstein stay revealed
PRINCE Andrew’s accuser Virginia Giuffre has demanded he “apologise for his partaking” in his pal Jeffrey Epstein’s “sex trafficking ring”.
The alleged victim of paedophile Epstein said she wanted answers after claims emerged the prince did stay at the billionaire’s New York mansion when she alleges she slept with him.
Giuffre, whose allegations Andrew has vehemently denied, spoke out after it was claimed he made provisions for three hours of “private time” while in New York.
Epstein’s former teenage sex slave hit out after it emerged Andrew and one of his bodyguards stayed at the American sex offender’s home.
She tweeted: “After many many years and against all odds the truth continues to surface.”
Referring to British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, a friend of Epstein, she asked: “When will it be enough for Prince Andrew to acknowledge me and apologise for his partaking in Epstein’s and Maxwell’s sex trafficking ring? Us survivors want answers.” Sources, however, stressed that on the night Andrew stayed at the house, neither Epstein, close associate Maxwell nor Giuffre were present.
The claims the Duke slept at Epstein’s New York townhouse in April 2001 contradict his car- crash interview with BBC Newsnight last year.
Interviewer Emily Maitlis quizzed him over Giuffre’s allegation they had sex in New York, taking place on the same visit he was accused of groping Johanna Sjoberg on. In 2016 Epstein’s former PA and victim Sjoberg alleged in court the Duke had fondled her breast while on his knee.
The incident came after Epstein and Maxwell, 58, presented Andrew, 60, with his Spitting Image puppet from the satirical TV show.
Court documents showed Giuffre, now 37, claimed she too was groped before alleging they later had sex.
Asked about the claims, Andrew appeared to acknowledge he might have visited. “I probably did… because of what I was doing I was staying with the consul general which is further down the street on Fifth, so I wasn’t… I wasn’t staying there,” he said.
“I may have visited but definitely didn’t, definitely, definitely no, no, no activity.”
According to a new report, Andrew stayed at Epstein’s £ 60million home on the final night of a visit to the US in 2001 “to save taxpayers money”.
Maxwell denies grooming and abusing girls. Epstein, 66, committed suicide in 2019 as he awaited trial for under- age sex crimes.
