I’ll cut work for sake of my family vows Amanda

- By Ashleigh Rainbird

AMANDA Holden says the past year has inspired her to stop taking on too much work and spend more time with her family.

The mother of two said 2020 had reminded her that they are “the most important people in the world”.

But she added: “It’s not that I’ve learnt that lesson this year because I always knew it.”

Amanda has two daughters, Alexa, 14, and Hollie, eight, with record producer husband Chris Hughes.

She said: “To just be able to have that time and put things aside that just aren’t important and give my all to them, has been joyous.

“It does make me think about how I am moving forward. I will say no a bit more. That’s what I’ve learned this year and what I will take into 2021.”

Amanda, 49, says the festive Britain’s Got Talent episode will “feel like you’re watching extended family” on Christmas Day.

The judges will all perform with hosts Ant and Dec dressed as elves. Amanda jokes: “It’s nice to see them in their normal clothes.” She performs with musical theatre group Collabro while David Walliams dresses as the Queen to deliver an alternative speech.

He jokes: “The Queen is going to watch it and not be very happy!”

Alesha Dixon and Ashley Banjo complete the festive line- up.

The comedian, 49, says it is handy nobody wins. He added: “The girls would probably give each other really big scores and they’d probably give Ashley loads of really great scores because he’s really handsome.

“And they probably both really fancy him. I’d be marked down!”

The BGT Christmas Spectacular is on Christmas Day at 8pm on ITV.
