Todd had got too big for his boots

TODD CANTWELL cannot wait to terrorise more defences with Norwich pal Emi Buendia – after admitting he’d become complacent.

The pair shared the goals in the 2- 0 win over Cardiff that sent them five points clear at the top. It was a fifth straight ht win.

Norwich manager Daniel Farke left them out of a trip to Bournemouth in September because he felt they were going through the motions.

“A reflection period is s always important and everything that has gone on is now behind me,” said Cantwell, above. “I realised I absolutely loved football. Before you start as a footballer no one really gives you those sort of lessons. “I love playing with Emi. When he’s playing like he is, it brings everyone’s level up. I think we’re a frightening sight.” Brentford Brentf boss Thomas Frank says his players can learn what it takes to be a Premier League player against Newcastle tomorrow night. The Bees battered Reading 3- 1 on Saturday to ta take their unbeaten run to 13. Now Championship top scorer Ivan Toney goes up against his former club. Frank said: “He’s extremely ambitious and there are a lot of players in our team like him. Newcastle gives our players a chance to test themselves at the highest level.”

Neil Warnock is at it again. He could be on for another promotion after Middlesbrough’s

4- 1 victory over Birmingham secured their biggest away win in six years.

What Warnock needs as a late Christmas present is three players in the transfer window.

“We’ve only got a small squad and we’ve got two or three long- ish injuries,” said Warnock. “If we didn’t have these injuries, I’d fancy us for the top six.”

Sheffield Wednesday manager Tony Pulis secured his first win since taking charge after Tom Lees’s header saw off Coventry.
