Scott the ‘ monster’ salutes turning point for Reds

-

was that kind of game. I enjoyed it, it was frantic, hectic.

“Sometimes you look at it and think ‘ put the ball in the goal’, but you can’t be greedy. I’m seeing more and more of a Manchester United team that I like. Our fans needed that one.”

Solskjaer hailed McTominay after his two goals in the opening three minutes. Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof and another brace from Bruno Fernandes piled on the misery for their gung- ho Yorkshire enemies.

Solskjaer added: “Scott used to be a striker as a kid. He is a physical monster, he can win the ball in the air, he wins the tackle, but he’s so strong and quick as well.

“He is an attacking midfielder by nature but when he sees space in front of him, why stop him?” It was only the second home league win this term for the Red Devils and man- ofthe- match McTominay believes it could be a turning point. He explained: “We said in the dressing room we need to get used to scoring goals at home. It’s so important to WOE: Bielsa team let six in for first time since ’ 92 have that fortress when teams come here.”

It is the first time a Marcelo Bielsa side has conceded six since he was with Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina in 1992.

Striker Patrick Bamford said: “It could have been 6- 6 if you’re an optimistic Leeds fan or it could have been 10- 2. We couldn’t do ourselves justice.

“I’m almost glad the fans weren’t allowed in to watch because it would’ve felt even worse sending them home.”
