Cahors out to make her experience count

- By The Scout (Chris Goulding)

CAHORS (1.40, nap) is fancied to put her course experience to good use in the Betway Novice Stakes at Southwell.

Anthony Carson’s filly was a surprise 22-1 winner of a maiden race at the track last time.

Third on the fibresand on her debut, she put in a professional performance to score by a length and a quarter.

Six furlongs should not be a problem given her running style, plus key opponents Whittle Le Woods and Tashbeeh are untested on the surface.

TOWN PARKS (3.10, treble) is up to taking Wetherby’s feature Follow RacingTV On Twitter Handicap Chase, if the meeting passes a morning inspection. The ten-year-old has been in good form this season, winning at Hereford off a mark of 129 before finishing third at Carlisle. Rated a workable 131, Kerry Lee’s runner should appreciate this flatter track with Richard Johnson, left, taking the reins.

The four-time champion jockey has won or been placed on almost 50 per cent of his rides for the yard over the past five seasons. Johnson can double up in the Watch Racing TV In Stunning HD EBF ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle on the Tom Lacey-trained UNOHU (3.45, nb).
